The AP’N3 Film Challenge
HOW ITWORKS
Anyone who thrives on the fun of filmmaking within the parameters of a challenge and who is inspired to create a short film focused on Asbury Park, NJ should enter.
All genres – animation, drama, comedy, horror, experimental, action/adventure, music video, PSA, commercial, documentary, student – are acceptable.
AP’N3 Challenge
NO BORDERS
Anyone, anywhere domestically or internationally can compete provided they use the prompts given to them in the Production Package on day one - June 1st - of the NO BORDERS Challenge category.
AP’N3 Challenge
ON LOCATION
This original category expects entrants to use the prompts available to them in the Production Package on day one - August 1st - of the ON LOCATION Challenge category, understanding that the film will be shot entirely within Asbury Park.

Click the SUBMIT button on the AP’N3 Challenge FilmFreeway page as early as March 27, 2025.

Log in to Film Freeway (if you have a FilmFreeway account) or set up an account with FilmFreeway.

Add a Project to your account – this Project page will HOLD your entry slot in the Challenge. Simply title it “AP’N3-2025” for now, fill in pertinent contact information and SAVE your project.

Navigate to the AP’N3 Challenge under ‘festival search’ to now ENTER your Project form in the Challenge. Follow the prompts to check out your entry through the Secure Checkout.
E
Click Pay and Complete Order and you’re entered in the Challenge. This process registers your intent to submit a film and adds you into the group who will be sent a link to the Production Resources Package on June 1st (NO BORDERS) category or August 1st (ON LOCATION) category containing the specific elements you’ll need to complete your film.
F
Your entry is considered “incomplete” at this point, as it has no video file associated with it – as yet. When you complete your film,
– you’ll return to your project page,
– amend an appropriate title,
– fill in the remainder of information about your film and
– upload your video file. Your entry is now complete and ready for judging. That’s It!
